This Mother's Day I did what I should've done for years now- milked it. In no uncertain terms, I was as lazy as possible. You see, in years past I always felt bad for my husband trying to do everything solo, but I did not fall into
that trap this year! No way!
I began my day of decadence by sleeping in (of course) then received 2 vegan cinnamon rolls and some hot cocoa in bed. I spent a good hour or more reading blogs and Mr. Man and Jeeves brought me some excellent presents!

From Jeeves: a "box" of chocolates (and by chocolates I mean chocolate scratch and sniff stickers) and a "Boston lounging in the grass".

From Mr. Man, a drawing and a "circle book". If you can't make out the best part of this circle book, the MOM acronym says "Magic Obedient Magical"... Magic? Yes. Magical? Absolutely. Obedient? Not the
first word I would think of to describe myself.... perhaps a vocabulary lesson is warranted.
My kids always make me the best stuff.
Next on the laze agenda, a 15 min shower, and then off to Value Village for some casual thrifting. I came home with a snow cone maker (surprise for the kids at a later date), a few kids' books, a travel lap desk/chalkboard (that I plan to craft a version of), a vintage girls' dress pattern, a nice picnic blanket (this will make a cameo later in the day), and major score-- New Kids On The Block flat sheet! I plan to make the sheet into something awesome for a friend's bridal shower. I was thinking apron, but the print may be too big....I will figure something out.
Quick stop at Starbucks on the way home (this was more for my husband than me), then we grabbed a pizza at Pizza Pi (they had 4 new pizzas!) and headed to the beach of Lake Washington for dinner (insert aforementioned picnic blanket here). It was a beautiful day and so nice to just sit and listen to the waves. It's been so long since Seattle's weather has been worthy of a park visit! At the beach, Bug discovered grass for the first time ever, and decided that sunglasses are for eating, not wearing. The kids had fun hunting for rocks and shells, and then throwing them in the water.

After our dinner at the beach, we made a quick stop at Healeo for vegan hemp softserve ice cream (I'm not sure why I thought this was a good idea since I don't like hemp milk or ice cream) and then home.
Today is definitely a candidate for "Fantastic Mother's Day", but we will see if dishes and laundry get done. Currently, Goose is playing Call of Duty, so it's not looking good, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt!
Tomorrow is coffee with a friend-- hooray for time with grown ups! And then the rest of the week I am hoping to be motivated to get some crafts off my "To Do" list.... fingers crossed!
